Chapter One
Origin
High in the hills, a cherry ripens.
Long before it ever meets a grinder, our coffee is a fruit — a deep red cherry growing on shaded slopes, picked only when perfectly ripe. We buy from small estates where the harvest is still done by hand, one cherry at a time, because machines can't taste ripeness.
The beans travel to us green and unassuming, smelling faintly of grass and earth. Nothing about them suggests what they're about to become. That transformation — that alchemy — is chapter two.
